 Ice Cream Memory Match Game 

Since we can’t eat ice cream all day every day during the month of July, we can at least play some ice cream games, right?  Last summer, we created Ice Cream Memory Match to keep the kids engaged and it’s been a favorite ever since.

I printed it out on cardstock and laminated the cards (you can use a laminator or clear contact paper) so that they’ll last for years to come. Everything gets stored in a zippered bag and it’s not unusual to find the kids playing it throughout the year. It’s just a fun, simple, kid-friendly game!

This is a great game to play for children.  Good memory skills are so important for kids to have a successful school career.   It helps with learning math problems, phone numbers, addresses, etc… When we train our brains to remember things, it helps in all areas of life.   Memory exercises & games, like Ice Cream Memory Match, help our brains to be trained to remember more.   The younger that we can start, the better.

Games like Ice cream memory match help our kids in skills like patterning, relational awareness (and even help with fine motor skills!)  Just remember that every time you play, you aren’t just having fun with your child, but you are training their brains now to help them in the future.  Work hard now to make life easier and more enjoyable down the road. 🙂

ICE CREAM MEMORY MATCH GAME: 

Directions: Print out the following pages on cardstock.  Cut out the squares & laminate them for durability.

How to Play: Shuffle the cards & place them face down on the table or floor.  Take turns turning over two at a time in an attempt to find a match.  The player with the most matches at the end of the game wins.
