A lot of my friend’s kids have cavities. I will say that we are LUCKY that ours don’t because I have come to find that you can brush and brush your child’s teeth and some still get cavities. Three of my closest friend’s daughters have cavities and if I could pick three of the best Moms, it would be these ladies. I don’t doubt for even a second that those little teeth are begin taken care of. Still, cavities happen.
MY DENTIST TOLD ME WHY SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE CAVITIES NOW…
He said people had healthier teeth years ago, when we used to eat three meals a day, meaning that our saliva had a chance to come back and clean our teeth. When we are constantly snacking, the saliva never builds back up and then it doesn’t have a chance to clean our teeth, which in turn leaves our teeth with more cavities.
In order to stop doing this (I am the queen of snacking instead of having real meals!), I have started chewing sugar-free gum, like Trident (its my favorite), because it helps keep our teeth clean after eating and between brushing.
